PICO 4: great specs and a competitive price point. It is considerably cheaper than the Meta Quest Pro while offering better graphics than the Quest 2, thanks to excellent pancake lenses. However, color passthrough on the Pico 4 is limited to mono. 

Upgrade Recommended

Meta Quest Pro: This headset offers 10-bit video with color passthrough; a noteable improvement to its predecessor, the Quest 2. However, it is being phased out by Meta so we recommend the Meta Quest 3S instead. . 

Meta Quest 2 is an affordable all-in-one headset that supports 8K video, but it has been surpassed by the Quest 3 and 3S and Meta is no longer selling it.

Note: Meta is phasing out support for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets so these are unlikely to be supported long-term. If you have either of these headsets, we strongly recommend upgrading to the Quest 3S. 

PCVR: 

You can access SLR via Steam on PCVR (avoid Virtual Desktop and Meta's Airlink) but you will miss out on key features such as passthrough. We recommend using a standalone headset for the full SLR experience.
